Coronavirus – First post-lockdown flights take off from Budapest Airport

The first flights from Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport since corona restrictions were introduced took off on Friday, with passengers complying with precautionary measures.

The airport operator said in a statement that the first take-off was a Wizz Air service to Berlin at 6:15pm.

Every effort is being made to ensure the safety of passengers and employees at the airport, the statement said, with social distancing helped by floor stickers and information boards, as well as marked seats.

Also, hand sanitisers are refilled regularly and disinfectant cleaning is taking place more frequently.

Budapest Airport is asking passengers to use the self-service baggage check-in system and online check-in.

Last week, Wizz Air and KLM said some flights would resume from early May.
